Pickles have definitely established themselves as an essential ingredient in any self-respecting recipe or culinary reference. In addition, many users of social networks have found in the combination of chocolate and pickle, a peculiar pairing that causes a sensation. If a few months ago a snack of pickles dipped in chocolate went viral, now it is the turn of the Pickle Cookie, a cookie filled with chocolate and pickles. Does this striking mix catch your attention? Below, we reveal the recipe in case you dare to prepare it at home.
How to prepare chocolate chip cookie with pickles
Ingredients:
- 300 g flour
- 120 g butter
- 6 pickles
- 180 g chocolate chips
- 1 pinch of baking powder
- 1 pinch of cornstarch
- 2 eggs M
- 150 g white sugar
- 150 g brown sugar
- Vanilla extract
- Salt
Preparation:
- While you finely chop the gherkins, leave the butter at room temperature.
- Then mix the butter and sugar in a bowl and stir well. Add the eggs and beat until smooth.
- Then add the flour and a pinch of salt, along with the cornstarch and baking powder. Beat well, but do not overbeat, to leave a mixture with the texture of cookie dough.
- Finally, add 3/4 of the chocolate chips to the dough along with the pickle pieces and mix well. Let stand in the refrigerator to make the dough more manageable.
- Form small balls and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top. Set aside in the refrigerator for half an hour.
- Then preheat the oven to 170º C. When the cookie balls are cool, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and place them separately from each other (so they do not touch during baking).
- Bake for about 12 minutes (or until you see them start to brown). Remove from the oven and flatten the balls to make the final cookie shape.
- Let stand for 10 minutes on the hot baking sheet. And enjoy this original combination of chocolate cookie with pickles.
