This case could very well be added to the archive of culinary lawsuits for situations that, on many occasions, border on the surreal. A new episode has been brought by a Florida woman who has just sued the company Hershey’s for the ‘misleading packaging’ of its candies.
Cynthia Kelly filed a class action lawsuit in the Middle District Court of Florida against the candy company for 5 million dollars. According to the lawsuit shared by WFLA, Kelly alleges that she and other consumers purchased Reese’s Peanut Butter products based on ‘false and misleading advertising’.
The plaintiff argued on her behalf that several Reese’s products were supposed to have ‘explicitly carved artistic designs’, but she did not find them on the actual products. A brief she accompanied with images such as Reese’s White Ghost chocolate, which had eyes and a mouth on the packaging, but not in real life.
Hershey’s labels for the Products are materially misleading and numerous consumers have been deceived and misled by the images on the Products’ packaging,’ the brief said.
