The controversial OMAD diet (one meal a day diet), consisting of intermittent fasting in which all daily calories are consumed in one meal, is no stranger to stardom. From Naomi Campbell to Bruce Springsteen have claimed to have followed this extreme diet as a religion in order to stay ‘healthy’ and energetic to cope with their frenetic lives.

The rock legend admitted to eating only one full meal a day in an interview given to The Times in October 2024. ‘I have a bit of fruit in the morning and then have dinner. That’s kept me lean and mean.’ While this is nothing new, as early as an interview in 2022 for the podcast ‘Beyond the influence’ he would reveal the importance of this diet in his life to keep him ‘healthy enough to perform well into his 70s’. ‘The most important thing is diet, diet, diet.’

‘I don’t eat too much, and I don’t eat bad food, except once in a while when I want to have a little fun for myself,’ she said. ‘So I think anyone who’s trying to get in shape, exercise is always important, of course, but diet is 90% of the game.’

This unusual eating habit has also been followed by other stars such as Chris Martin or Naomi Campbell, who spoke openly about the dietary regimen that kept her in shape.

Speaking to The U.S. Sun in 2020, the supermodel told how she usually ate just one meal a day. ‘I eat lunch. Lunch is my dinner, because I really only eat once a day,’ she said at the time. She added: ‘On Sundays I indulge, so I do desserts, cakes and puddings,’ although she clarified that she follows a gluten- and dairy-free diet, even when it comes to sweets.
