During the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, enjoying some of the trendiest bars or fine French cuisine restaurants will be an unparalleled experience. Here is a list of some of the best places in the capital of love and gastronomy that you can’t miss.

Guy Savoy

Located in the Hôtel de la Monnaie, this icon of French gastronomy features a focus on seasonal ingredients and classic techniques reinterpreted by chef Guy Savoy based on the artistic transformation of cuisine. With six dining rooms adorned with contemporary paintings and sculptures, it pays tribute to the capital through dishes such as its signature truffle artichoke soup, which is savoured with a brioche spread with truffle butter, or its roast pork ribs served straight from the spit to the plate.

Where? 11 Quai de Conti, 75006.

GIRAFE

Nestled in the heart of the Cité de l’Architecture in Paris, Girafe celebrates the gestures of yesteryear, the precise and friendly service, the seafood and fish of its coasts in the midst of Parisian ambiance. A high-level experience to be enjoyed from its dazzling terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower.

La table de Girafe is a blend of simplicity and opulence, of gastronomic delights and urban beauty. In the style of Parisian sea houses, fish, shellfish and crustaceans are served in all their forms. The most classic: on ultra-fresh platters, in raw versions in the form of ceviche and other sashimis, but also skilfully seared (lobster, sole, turbot…), evolving according to the arrivals’.

La Maison du Caviar

Maison du Caviar is a Parisian institution, founded in 1956, which welcomes the capital’s eclectic personalities to its tables: residents and visitors attracted by its 1920s-inspired interior design and its high-end menu that boasts a series of culinary discoveries based on the finest caviars and iodine.

Its menu features signature dishes and great classics of Russian cuisine, such as borscht, pirojkis and veal Stroganoff, mixed with chic creations such as its prestigious selection of caviar served in a bowl of ice – white caviar from the Kadjar reserve, beluga from Iran, Imperial Osciètre… alongside its top-of-the-range wines or its vodkas flavoured with hazelnuts.

Septime

With one Michelin star, Septime is known for its creative and modern approach to French cuisine. This year, marked by the Olympic Games, they will keep their establishment open during the sporting events and close the week in between.

Café de Flore

Today, Café de Flore has become a landmark in the fashion world, channelled as a stage or catwalk for campaigns and catwalk shows by Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Longchamp and Louis Vuitton. But it has also become a meeting point for the artistic communities that have made it another of the temples of fashion in which to sit alongside fashion editors, models and creatives from the industry.

Le Meurice Alain Ducasse

In this emblematic place that imposes classical refinement and Grand Siècle elegance, inspired by the Salon de la Paix at the Château de Versailles, Alain Ducasse reflects his own ode to nature. The chef here takes care to preserve the authentic flavour of the produce all the way to the plate based on a skilfully orchestrated technique that has made him one of the best chefs in the world.

Folderol

Folderol connects – and elevates – two seemingly unrelated concepts: ice cream and wine in the heart of Paris. It is a trendy ice cream shop and wine bar serving artisan ice cream in antique metal cups alongside a selection of natural wines.

A hybrid concept and/or a perfect fusion that defines the identity of this business based purely on pleasure for the “bon vivants” who sit on its pavement, drinking artisanal wine, eating ice cream and chatting as if they were part of a timeless block party that iconic personalities such as Dua Lipa or Jacquemus have also been part of.

Where? 10 Rue Du Grand Prieuré, 75011.

Le Mary Celeste

An oyster and cocktail bar in the Marais, known for its relaxed atmosphere and innovative dishes, is the ideal choice for an informal evening with friends to enjoy the fine cuisine the capital has to offer.

Where? 1 Rue Commines, 75003.

El Relais Plaza

This historic Art Deco brasserie has become an ode to the past that is revived from the present by the great lovers of contemporary gastronomy, who come to this establishment to delight in dishes such as its raw sea bass with olive oil and lemon, prawns in mayonnaise, crispy roast turbot or its fillet of veal with foie gras.

Not to mention the icing on the cake: their comfortingly regressive desserts ranging from a chocolate soufflé tart to a childhood caramel cream.

Where? 21 Av. Montaigne, 75008.

Parcelles

On Rue Chapon in Le Marais, this iconic 1936 bistro combines a great wine list from the south of France, Italy and Spain with seasonal dishes such as courgette fritters, pressed pork shanks and even a tiramisu with hazelnut bursts.
