The El Triangular® football tournament transcends the classic matches to bring together on the pitch a series of gastronomic teams made up of 3 of the most relevant brands in Spain’s street food scene.
In mid-October, the creative studio specialising in post-football MATINAL FC brought together these references of burger, pizza and kebab in an urban key; while celebrating the culture of the third half through the intersection and/or connection between football and gastronomy.
The event brought together teams from VICIO, GROSSO and JEKES in a 5-a-side football tournament with a winner stays format. Each team curated a selection of players made up of staff and creative talent friends of the brand who would play against each other in a series of matches in their representative blokecore aesthetic kits.
In the run-up to the event, the team captains and the MATINAL team also met for lunch at a well-known Korean restaurant in Madrid; functioning as a reinterpretation of the traditional professional football managers’ lunch.
But the culinary tournament did not end there. After the matches, the players and guests were able to enjoy the Third Half with a great dinner of burgers, pizzas and kebabs: a team meeting where they could discuss the play, connect with each other or develop a sense of community.
