The Valls Companys group has just completed the purchase of 100% of the Leonese company Embutidos Rodríguez. In 2017, it acquired 10% of the company and subsequently took a 40% stake until it now has full control following approval from the National Markets and Competition Commission.
But the relationship between the two companies goes back a long way. For 20 years, Agrocesa (a livestock integration company of Valls Companys that produces Iberian breed pigs) has been the main supplier of pigs to Embutidos Rodríguez. So their trajectories have always gone hand in hand. Embutidos Rodríguez has been in business for more than 100 years, with a great family tradition and generates more than 600 direct jobs with a turnover of 220 million euros.
With this operation, Embutidos Rodríguez becomes part of the Vall Companys Group, to become one of its production centres of reference in Spain, while Valls Companys consolidates one of its main lines of business: the breeding and production of pork and cured ham, both nationally and internationally.
