If a few weeks ago we inaugurated the ice cream season by proposing a route through some of the best ice cream parlors in Madrid, today we bring you a proposal that will become the sweet sensation of this season. It is not an ice cream, nor is it a croissant. It is actually the Croissant Helado. It has just been launched at Maison Kayser and is halfway between pastries and ice cream. It is a croissant filled with vanilla ice cream, which you can customize with different flavors of toppings (Natural, Oreo, Lotus, caramel and pistachio). You can try it at any of their five locations in Madrid.
Just a few months ago, the French chain also triumphed with the New York Roll, a round roll with croissant dough and filled with pistachio, raspberry or Nutella creams. A trend that came directly from Manhattan and that a lot of bakeries in our country implemented due to the success among customers.
The prices of these products are around 5.5 € per unit and, judging by the success they are having, it seems that croissants are more fashionable than ever -in any of their forms-.
And if you’ve worked up an appetite and feel like trying one of the seasonal sweets but with a homemade elaboration, you can start with this recipe for what is considered the best artisan croissant in Madrid from Panem baker.
