The ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ legend needs to maintain a diet that gives her energy to continue her rockstar lifestyle. To do so, she incorporates certain ‘comfort’ and nutritious dishes, as she revealed on the new episode of ‘Table Manners’ with Jessie and Lennie Ware.
In the podcast she would talk about her beginnings in the kitchen as her mother’s helper from an early age. Cyndi Lauper even said that she used to cook for her crew while on tour, and that there was one amazing dish she would make over and over again: beetroot soup. This is an Eastern European soup usually made with beetroot, cabbage, beef and other vegetables, according to the chef’s taste.
The hosts then surprised Lauper by making her beetroot soup, which they were able to enjoy during the episode. The pop star talked about how she started eating soup and how she learned to make it for one of her friends while she was on tour.
Well, my friend Jutta, who does my hair… she likes it. When we were on tour, I looked up different recipes and started making beetroot soup for her,’ says Lauper, who also mentions that she always makes a vegetarian version, as she doesn’t eat beef.
