Although singer and actress Taylor Swift is immersed in the successful tour The Eras Tour, a few weeks ago she took some time to go to dinner with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds to one of her favorite restaurants in New York: Casa Cipriani. In fact, the famous group of friends was photographed outside the iconic Italian restaurant, one of the most exclusive in the world.
This is not the first time Taylor Swift has been caught leaving this restaurant: she also visited it with her ex, Joe Alwyn, and with her friend Lena Dunham. Other celebrities like Drew Barrymore or John Legend are also clients of Casa Cipriani, which can only be accessed if you are a member (or guest of a member) or if you stay at the luxurious hotel where it is located.
To gain access to this private club that is the rage among New York millionaires, you have to pay an initial fee of $2,000 and an annual fee of $3,900, which opens the doors to the Club Restaurant, the Jazz Café, The Pickering Room, the Promenade Bar and the Living Room.
One of the most exclusive Italians in the world
Located above Lower Manhattan in the iconic Battery Maritime Building – one of the last remaining Beaux-Arts style ferry terminals from the 20th century – it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. As they explain on their website, “a true private members’ club is being developed at Casa Cipriani that brings together an eclectic community united by life’s simple pleasures.” The impressive space features 47 luxury rooms and suites with views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty.
As for its attractive gastronomic proposal, which since a few weeks ago can also be enjoyed in Marbella, it focuses on delicious classics of Venetian cuisine. Carpaccio alla Cipriani, veal liver alla Veneziana with fried polenta or baked tagliolini with ham and risotto alla Primavera are some of its most iconic dishes.
In addition, its cocktail menu is legendary: among them is the famous Bellini, created by Giuseppe Cipriani, owner of the legendary Harry’s Bar in Venice, in 1948. Cipriani was inspired to create it by the colors of the work of the Renaissance artist Giovanni Bellini, which is why he baptized it with his surname.
Would Taylor Swift and her celebrity friends toast with this refreshing blend of prosecco and peaches? If you want to follow in her footsteps, here’s how to make a Bellini.
