The Guinness World Records in the gastronomic world have been going on all the time. Just a few days ago, Boarderie, a premium cheese and charcuterie brand, achieved a new feat with the world’s largest charcuterie platter. In total, the banquet was 6 metres long by 4 metres wide and weighed a total of 769 kg of cold meats, as well as artisan cheeses, biscuits, dried fruits and gourmet chocolates, among other foods. Thus, the Guinness record that had been set to date was completely broken.
In total, the team assembled 1,024 individual trays of sausages, which they cut for more than two hours, plus one hour of assembly time to assemble everything on a single board.
It should be noted that the event was also a charity initiative and all the food was donated to The Lord’s Place, a local non-profit organisation dedicated to helping the homeless.
The previous record for the heaviest sausage board stood at 200 kg (more than three times less than this one), to get an idea of the magnitude of the current giant board.
