If you love cheesecakes you have probably heard of (and tasted) the iconic Basque cheesecake that has been made at La Viña restaurant for more than 36 years. Located in the old town of Donosti, this restaurant serves one of the favorite cheesecakes in our country and around the world -The New York Times included it in its recommendations-. It is a soft baked recipe that has earned its place in the cheesecake world on its own merits. For you to try it at home, here is the original recipe for Basque cheesecake from La Viña. Enjoy!
Original Basque cheesecake recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 kg cream cheese
- 400 g sugar
- 1/2 l cream
- 7 eggs
- 1 tablespoon flour
Preparation:
- First mix in a bowl the cream cheese with the cream, sugar, eggs and flour. Beat it with a mixer.
- When you have a uniform dough, pour it into a mold with greaseproof paper.
- Bake at 200 ºC for 45 minutes.
- Let it cool and remove from the mold, we assure you that it will not last long!
