‘Nutrition is a big part of my success right now,’ Tara Davis reveals to Eating Well in an interview in which they discuss her collaboration with energy drink Celsius, as well as her diets and routines, in general.

The long jump gold medal winner for Team USA during the Paris Olympics, she bases her diet mainly on ‘steaks, sweet potatoes and any vegetables‘. A healthy ritual she carries out with her husband Hunter Woodhall. Although her favorite food is pasta, which she always eats the day before competitions to supply herself with the necessary energy.

When asked about her favorite snack, the Olympic athlete alludes to ‘Sour Strips’ candies. She also adds that she is obsessed with beef sticks from her ‘local butcher in Fayetteville’. I brought 20 back to Paris so I wouldn’t run out of them.

Finally, when she answers those foods she ‘hates,’ she unveils them with all sorts of nuances: ‘I’m very picky about certain things. I definitely don’t like squash or zucchini. I don’t like tomatoes either, but I do like a caprese salad. Which is weird. I don’t like them on my sandwich or my burgers or anything else. It has to be red and hard, not that mushy, mushy tomato. I don’t like that one at all.’
