Not only have the products of the Aquna fishing company been approved by culinary critics, they now also have the royal seal of approval from King Charles III of England, and Queen Camilla. The couple, during their aristocratic tour of Sydney and Canberra, before departing for Samoa on official business, attended a barbecue hosted by renowned chef Adam Liaw, which showcased a selection of local produce. These included smoked Murray River cod and Aquna Gold caviar.
King Charles was completely captivated by the company’s history, sustainable practices and products, and stayed to chat with Aquna members. The king is known for following an ecological and conscious philosophy, which he has demonstrated on several occasions, such as when he published an advertisement to hire a vegan cook, as an act to reduce his impact on the environment.
Beyond the eco-futuristic mantra preached by the company, the smoked cod and its delicate caviar, one of the most expensive in the world, also impressed the monarch. The fishery, of course, wanted to post a clip on its Instagram profile to share such excitement. ‘We gave them some Aquna Gold caviar, and some hot smoked cod’.
