Fans of the chain’s Kale Caesar salad mourned the loss of this recipe that was discontinued and removed from the menu. Although there was one person in particular who resonated more than the rest, because of her unstoppable universal influence, and that was rapper SZA.
The Grammy-winning singer, who shared the stage with Kendrick Lamar at the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show, would use Instagram as a loudspeaker to call for his return. “PLEASE JUSTICE RETURN FOR KALE [CAESAR],” the artist wrote in stories. “I will do anything!”

Little did she know that that post would end up sparking a whole virtual movement, let alone that True Food Kitchen would launch SZA’s version of her favorite salad: the SZA CZA salad. It’s made with a base of kale, cherry tomatoes, avocado, scallions, rosemary and garlic croutons, Parmesan cheese and Caesar dressing. And the best part? It’s for a good cause, as 20% of the proceeds from SZA CZA orders will be donated to SÜPRMARKT, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that prioritizes making fresh food accessible to disadvantaged communities.

‘The funny thing is, this all started because Caesar salads were my hyper-fixe food and True Food Kitchen has the best dressing,’ SZA expresses in a press release. ‘After begging them to bring back the Kale Caesar salad from their seasonal retreat, I realized that not only should everyone have access to this delicious salad year-round, everyone should have access to organic foods and produce year-round!That’s why it’s so important for me to create this partnership with True Food Kitchen’.
