In 2023, Cepsa is betting more than ever on the hospitality sector, especially promoting its most recent line of business: R’spiro coffee shops. This is a premium coffee shop model, along the lines of Starbucks and other such chains. This new concept, which opened in September as corners in its service stations, offers customers the opportunity to take a gastronomic break with a wide range of high quality products, in a sustainable and designer space. In fact, their slogan is ‘Artisans of Moments’, a clear message that they want to become a meeting point and relaxing experience, to take a break and make it a recurring stop, rather than a place to pass through.

This new strategy gained more strength last March, with the opening of an independent store at Juan Hurtado de Mendoza, 7 (Cuzco area). In addition, it already has more than 100 corners throughout the country and plans a major expansion in the remainder of the year to reach 250 points and even plans to franchise the chain by 2024, according to El Economista.

On the hunt for leading coffee shop chains

The same media also noted that the company has signed Álvaro Vela as director of New Commerce of the company and responsible for the chain of coffee shops. It should be noted that until now Vela has been the head of marketing at Starbucks, so Cepsa is pulling out all the stops to ensure that R’spiro manages to position itself in the market as a benchmark coffee shop, both in the service stations themselves and in its independent stores.

As for the products they offer, R’spiro is inclined to serve products “with a lot of care” and excellent raw materials, 100% Arabica quality coffees and artisan pastries such as croissants or chocolate napolitanas, as well as savory proposals and bread.
