At the legendary Hamrun Chocolate Festival in Malta, Cassar wanted to make his own tribute to the film Gladiator, and its star Russell Crowe.
A work that the actor himself shared on the social network X, with an image of his hyper-realistic chocolate replica exhibited at the festival over the weekend. Crowe, upon learning of this amazing creation, wanted to share it, praising the chocolate sculpture of his character Maximus from ‘Gladiator’.
Some have statues made of bronze. Others are made of marble. In Malta, they made me out of…. chocolate!!! [When the contest is over, I’ll be available for lunch,’ Crowe said sarcastically.
The chocolate work was sculpted by artist Tiziano Cassar, who took inspiration from the 2000 film to end up revolutionising the audience IRL, as well as the internet to viralise the post.
