The great American television and culinary icon was not only recognized for his work in the world of haute cuisine, but also for his philosophy of life with which he explored the more urban and earthy side of gastronomy. Anthony Bourdain would also connect with the simplicity of the everyday and unpretentious food.
Based on that mindset, as it happens to most of the celebrities of the stardom, the posthumous chef loved a good hamburger or a caloric fast food menu with which to feel that dopamine effect it produces. Specifically, by the one supplied by a particular fast food chain: In-N-Out.

In a video posted on Reddit, the celebrity chef explains that a perfectly prepared cheeseburger has many layers. The importance of the bun cannot be overlooked, and it is essential that the meat is completely covered. As for the cheese, an unpretentious slice of American cheese or ‘cheese-like substance’ is a must, as anything too fancy can ruin the experience of a meal that is humble in its essence.
In-N-Out Burger meets all of these requirements, although he adds a creative twist to the dish if asked. Bourdain jokes towards the end of the video that he likes his burgers ‘animal style’, before hinting that he can’t reveal the secret that makes them so exquisite. Contrary to what it may seem, you don’t need a secret code to order food the way he enjoys it.
