Throughout these days we have seen how Bruce Springsteen, Steven Spielberg and his partner, Kate Capshaw, and Barack and Michelle Obama have been sightseeing in Barcelona, the city where Springsteen opened his European tour this weekend.
We have seen them enjoying the Catalan gastronomy at Amar, by Rafa Zafra; we have also seen them at the Abat Cisneros restaurant, located in Montserrat Mountain, and other emblematic places in Barcelona.
And as expected, this Sunday afternoon was also used to taste Spanish cuisine, although without the presence of Barack Obama, since the former president of the United States left in Zurich, Switzerland on the occasion of a series of conferences in which he participates.
The renowned chef Jordi Cruz published on Sunday afternoon that he has cooked for them. He unveiled it in an Instagram post featuring Springsteen, Spielberg, Michelle Obama and actress Kate Capshaw and part of the team of the ABaC Lounge, in Barcelona.
“Thank you very much for letting us cook this very special meeting, absolute admiration. Thank you very much for letting us cook this very special meeting, absolute admiration”, describes the chef in the publication.
ABaC, awarded three Michelin stars and nominated as Best Restaurant in Catalonia 2011 by the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy, seats 56 diners, according to its website. The restaurant, which has a splendid decoration “is located in the newly built pavilion, in contact with the garden. Indoors and outdoors coincide through large windows”.
In ABaC’s menu we can find delicacies such as calamari a la romana; roasted and cryofiltered piña colada as ramen; caviar oyster tartar with green apple and smoked cephalopod cream or the lollipop balloon with strawberry kakigori, milk xoco, begonias and tonka bean, dishes that are part of its tasting menu.
