Everyone has a connection with the land that has seen him born and raised. Antonio Banderas shares this sentiment, but the love for his land, for some years now, has pushed him to revitalize the city and turn it into a cultural and gastronomic center.
So much so, that he has been living there for a long time, except for the shootings that force him to travel around the world. And his investment began with his own profession, acting. The historic Malaga theater Alameda had had to close its doors in 2018 and he reopened it just a year later, in November 2019, to make available to its neighbors a space in which to enjoy art and theater. But it is not the only investment that the Malaga superstar wanted to make.
Tercer Acto
This is the bar that Antonio Banderas opened so that attendees could eat after going to see the theatrical performances. The theater has the same name as the company that the actor from Malaga has with his partners. Here Mediterranean food is served in fusion with Japanese gastronomy. For those who arrive with a full stomach, they also offer signature cocktails.
Doña Inés
The actor once again seeks fusion with what he calls “gastronomic romance”. Within this restaurant there are dishes of traditional cuisine, including rice dishes, but there is also meat and fish, with the same weight on the menu.
La barra de Doña Inés
In this place that was born as a second part of Doña Inés, Banderas’ company tries to lend the tavern a traditional but innovative touch. The star product are the tapas, in which they use the basis of traditional recipes, but giving a twist to the initial concept: omelette, anchovies, flamenquín or gazpacho… All the flavors of Andalusia in one place.
Atrezzo
In this restaurant, the Tercer Acto group introduces an Italian touch to the menu: Neapolitan-style pizzas, homemade pastas,… Not only the food impresses, but also the interior decoration and the very large space, about 300 square meters.
La Pérgola del Mediterráneo
This is the latest to join the list. The fish of the region is at the center of the menu, also with rice, seafood, meats and the touch of Asian cuisine that accompanies many of the group’s restaurants. It is not only designed for dining, but also for hosting events or artistic performances. The views of the Mediterranean are one of the most striking features of the restaurant. It is located in the Real Club Mediterráneo de Málaga, a space that houses nearly 4,000 members, a figure that the restaurant expects to exceed.
El Pimpi
Antonio Banderas also has an important participation of one of the gastronomic emblems of the city of Malaga: El Pimpi. Its gastronomic offer is very varied, from montaditos to sushi. International guides highlight its pringá as one of the most legendary products in the world. It is a stew of pork, blood sausage and chorizo.
