The Jonas Brothers family has always kept one priority on the table: family meals, twice a day. We shared breakfast and dinner every day,’ Kevin Jonas Sr., the boys’ father, tells Food & Wine.

‘We would share anecdotes of the day, go over what the next day had in store for them, and dream about the future when they were just starting out. No matter how busy we were, we would spend family time around the Jonas’ table,’ he continues.

Today, they themselves welcome diners to their restaurant Nellie’s Southern Kitchen, which they opened in Belmont (North Carolina) in 2016. A place where Kevin’s grandmother, after whom the restaurant is named, passed on her family love through food.

Nellie cooked a wide variety of dishes there: tons of biscuits, served in various forms, with butter, gravy and jam. But the two most delicious she remembers are the chicken and dumplings and the banana pudding, both of which are now highlights of Nellie’s menu.

Her mother Denise was also keen to share with the media the Jonas’ passion for good food, especially the green beans and tomatoes from Nellie and husband Paul’s garden, as well as the sweet potato she prepares for them, which has become the Sweet Caroline of Nellie’s.

Although the star of the show at Nellie’s -which opened a second Las Vegas location at the MGM Grand in 2022- is authentic Southern comfort food, there are aesthetic nods to the Jonas Brothers universe, as well as a burger named after one of their first songs, ‘Lovebug’.
