For many, Sunday breakfast/brunch is the best way to start this day, destined to rest and be with our loved ones. In Spain it is very common to have breakfast with a tortilla skewer, bread with olive oil and tomato, a ham sandwich, chocolate with churros or simply some muffins and coffee.
In other countries, such as the United States, it is customary to have an even ‘stronger’ breakfast such as scrambled eggs with bacon or sweetened cereals in different presentations; or in Mexico, on Sundays, people usually have chilaquiles, molletes, sweet bread or barbecue tacos for breakfast.
Having a good Sunday implies starting off on the right foot with the first meal of the day, either very early or later with brunch. If you are one of those who like sweet breakfasts, you will enjoy this recipe, since model Hailey Bieber (whom, by the way, we have already seen cooking on different occasions) has published on her social networks her star breakfast: cinnamon rolls, one of the most viral food trends on TikTok.
Would you like to prepare them at home? Here is the recipe (for ten rolls):
For the dough:
400 g of strong flour
10 g fresh yeast
50 ml water (lukewarm if possible)
100 ml milk
50 g melted butter
1 egg
Pinch of salt
30 g powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the filling:
100 g melted butter
60 g powdered sugar
1.5 tablespoons cinnamon powder
1 tablespoon of milk
For the glaze:
100 g powdered sugar
100 g cheese spread
30 ml hot water
Preparation:
1.- In a glass, mix the warm milk, water and yeast. Stir and let stand for a few minutes.
2.- Then pour the rest of the ingredients into the glass and knead for a few minutes.
3.- Add the mixture of milk, water and yeast and continue kneading for 10 to 15 minutes.
4.- Then place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let it rest until it doubles its volume (1 hour and a half approximately).
5.- On a floured surface, stretch the dough into a rectangle.
Spread the softened butter on it and sprinkle it all with the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
7.- Roll the dough and cut 10 rolls.
8.- Place them on a baking tray covered with melted butter.
9.- Cover with plastic wrap and let rise for another hour (this way they will be fluffier).
Preheat the oven to 220º and bake until golden brown, approximately 12 to 15 minutes.
11.- For the topping mix the three ingredients together.
