Badr El Jundi once again connects different cultures, promoting dialogue and intellectual growth with this emerging project of creative experimentation materialised artistically in the exhibition entitled ‘The Last Slice’.
‘The Last Slice’ brings together in the same space the work and/or avant-garde works of eight international artists: Alma Berrow, Tania Blanco, Holly Halkes, Maia Regis, Iván Forcadell, Kat Lowish, Coline Marotta and Lena Christakis, showing their aesthetic approaches and their particular visions of food.
From food industrialisation to the exploration of human behaviour, the group exhibition interprets the act of eating as a social ritual around a table. As an episode that has become a historical moment. As a gathering of people, relatives, acquaintances in an everyday life. As a reference to the traditional still life. Food, like life, is a cycle that begins and ends. And what spatial/temporal value are we giving it?
The exhibition will be on temporary display – from 15 June to 27 July – at the Badr El Jundi gallery (C. del Barquillo, 43).
