The profits of Eroski‘s franchised supermarket network increased by a surprising 10.6% during the financial year 2023 based on an overall investment of 14 million euros, backed by the opening of 65 franchises and the creation of 360 jobs. During the 2024 financial year, Eroski plans to open 57 franchises.
In a statement, it has indicated that this expansion, together with the transformation undertaken in its network of own shops, represents a ‘strong boost’ to the extension of the ‘with you’ commercial model that defines the new generation of Eroski shops.
The autonomous communities where the largest number of openings have been concentrated are Catalonia (27), Andalusia (10), the Balearic Islands (5) and the Basque Country, Castilla León and Castilla La Mancha (4). They are followed by Aragon (3) and Extremadura, Galicia, Valencia and Madrid (2).
We are satisfied with the evolution of the Eroski franchise network. We have met the most important objectives, both in terms of growth in sales and profitability, and in terms of the number of new shops opened. In this scenario, we are optimistic for this new financial year and we have to continue to focus on supporting the franchisee’, according to the Eroski Franchise Director, Alberto Cañas.
WITH YOU’ BUSINESS MODEL
Eroski states that its franchises have established the ‘with you’ commercial model, integrating a series of innovations in its establishments: ‘a commitment to local and regional produce, the promotion of healthy eating, the contribution to savings for its customers and its commitment to social responsibility and sustainability through solidarity initiatives and the reduction of environmental impact’.
