On June 13 the Infanta Cristina turned 58 years old and to celebrate such an important date she spent a few days with her children in Cordoba. In this Andalusian city, in addition to visiting the most tourist areas, she also made a gastronomic tour of two typical restaurants there. One of her stops was at Casa El Pisto, a traditional tavern that has been open since 1880. It is a gastro museum of the Cordovan capital, where many famous faces usually pass by.
According to the restaurant’s own profile, the Infanta Cristina ate there last Friday (in the picture she appears with the team of the tavern and two of her children). Among the specialties they surely tasted would be a classic of the house as is the ratatouille (the half portion costs 8.8 €), or the oxtail, the flamenquines and the cochifrito cordobés. For the Casa El Pisto team, this visit “was a great honor and privilege”.
They also had lunch at Ermita La Candelaria
Another place they visited was Ermita La Candelaria, where they enjoyed a private lunch, according to El Día de Córdoba. It is also a classic restaurant with traditional cuisine, headed by Javier Campos. It stands out for its use of local products from Cordoba. Located in an old 15th century chapel in the historic center of the city, its menu includes classics such as ensaladilla, the typical ratatouille or oxtail, among other options. The establishment also works as catering and for the celebration of special events.
This is a familiar place for the Royal family, as a few months ago it served a cocktail at the Royal Collegiate Church of San Hipolito on the occasion of the event sponsored by the Princess of Girona Foundation, which was attended by Queen Letizia.
