A few months after the second season of the foodie audiovisual trend created by Christopher Storer premiered, it has just been revealed what all diners have been waiting for: the return of The Bear’s third season in 2024.
The culinary drama turned mass cultural phenomenon will continue to cook up episodes that will follow the story of Carmy (White) in her relentless struggle to turn her former grubby sandwich shop into a true fine dining restaurant amid scenes of chaos, glory, love and decadence alongside the likes of Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).
We are so proud to collaborate with Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior and the rest of the creative team, as well as the brilliant cast led by Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. What they and the team have done is truly extraordinary, and we and our partners at Hulu join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story of ‘The Bear,’ says Nick Grad, FX’s president of entertainment.
What will season 3 be about?
Pending the arrival of a formal synopsis, the clues from the end of the second season could give us a preview of some of the sequences or plots of the new one (Spoiler alert).
The Bear‘s renovated restaurant opens its doors to upgrade its gastronomic offer and its service. In the meantime, a series of dramas ensue, such as the one that happens to Carmy when he gets locked in a fridge, or when Claire breaks up with him. Her mother and Natalie‘s mother arrive at the opening, but in the end decide not to go in, fearing to ruin their children’s night. With only one night to go, the big question is: will The Bear manage to stay open?
If we leave the restaurant and/or the main setting, parallel storylines develop as well. Natalie, who discovered she was pregnant in the second season, may give birth in the third. Another big puzzle is Marcus, who misses several missed calls from his mother’s nurse in the season two finale. Will he and Syd end up going on a real date?
As for Carmy, could she get a second chance with Claire, or will she decide to ‘focus’ solely on the restaurant? Recall that in episode 3 of season 2, the chef expressed in group therapy that he had forgotten what fun was because he was so wrapped up in the restaurant. However, we will have to wait until next year to be able to figure it all out. Until when exactly? We don’t know yet.
