A new futuristic electric vehicle charging and entertainment experience is coming soon to Hollywood with the ‘Diner and Drive-In Supercharger’ project. It involves the construction of a micro-universe that aims to offer Tesla owners, and the general public, a dining and cinematic experience while recharging their electric vehicles.

The news comes two years after Musk posted on X – the new Twitter update – the following: ‘soon there will be a new Supercharger station in Santa Monica. I hope there will also be a 50’s restaurant, and the 100 greatest movies. Thank you city of Santa Monica’.

The post was published in 2021, and now, according to Teslarati, the company has obtained approval from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety in order to make a ‘Diner and Drive-In Movie Supercharger‘ in West Hollywood’ a reality.

The location is planned at 7001 W. Santa Monica Boulevard, and the complex is expected to feature 32 Supercharger stations, as well as an American diner-style restaurant, rooftop seating and two macro movie screens.

With Superchargers, Tesla car owners won’t be able to see the whole movie, as charging could provide up to 200 miles in just 15 minutes. According to reports, applications for the project were submitted in November 2022 and the plan was approved earlier this summer on July 18. All that remains to be seen now is when this project will be completed.
