From Tapas we compile the best plans with which to enjoy the weekend in Madrid, and relegate ourselves to hedonism between cultural and gastronomic experiences, parties, events and museums. Take the agenda and take note of our weekly proposal.
FRIDAY 13
On Friday we will go to party at Sala El Sol to have fun with the mixes of some of the djs with the greatest global projection of the national scene. Merca Bae + Julietta Ferrari + Iva Peralta B2B Alex Compton + Baby Pantera will take the booth to play their high voltage sets for the 5th edition of the BCM party. Get your pass here.
SATURDAY 14TH
On Saturday we will change the mood to hate Christmas at GRINCH HOUSE, the emerging Christmas market that comes to the Belmonte Gallery in Carabanchel to bring together a curation of 20 fashion, craft and design firms in the same creative space. There, beyond shopping, visitors can also enjoy a wine and a gilda from La Copa or a coffee from holgura x placeo.
The girls from Fondo Supper Club will debut there with their collection of ceramic tableware, steel pieces and tablecloths, while other artists such as Kauani will present their hand-woven artisanal lamps, the result of the creativity of Inés Llasera and Inés Quezada. There will also be Samodiva, an emerging brand of handmade jewelry in 100% silver, Garasu Design, which stands out for its exploration of the versatility of glass, and 33jabones, which creates handmade soaps based on experimental concepts.
There will also be bags by Querida Maida, wooden designs by Siete Formas, and The Beemine Lab will present CBD products in all shapes and flavors. To close, Chilean artist China.ink will perform live flash tattoos, adding a touch of ephemeral art to the experience.
After visiting the market, we will make a stop to relax and enjoy some churros with chocolate in the designer restaurant of Barceló Torre de Madrid. At La Santa María, we will snack on the proposal of ChurrOh!, which displays two versions of the Christmas classic: the more traditional “Hot & Choc” which consists of four crunchy churros accompanied by a creamy hot chocolate; and, on the other hand, the “Minis Rellenos”, six mini-sized churros filled with chocolate, bathed in white chocolate sauce with cookie topping.
We will finish the day giving it all at the Yung Beef concert at the Palacio de Vistalegre. At 8pm, the rapper will take his ‘El Día de la Bestia’ tour to the stage to make us sing in unison with some of his singles released this year, including ‘Rifle Bisexual’, ‘Tengo Una Mala’, ‘Cocotaso’ or ‘No Juego’; beyond past tracks belonging to his album ‘A.D.R.O.M.I.C.F.M.S 4 1/2’ as ‘Drugstory’ or ‘Mental breakdown’. If you don’t have it yet, get your pass here.
SUNDAY 14TH
On Sunday we will escape at El Jardín de Arzábal, the restaurant of the iconic culinary duo formed by Iván Morales and Álvaro Castellano, located in the Reina Sofía Museum. In conceptual synchrony with art, from their gastronomic space they create unique experiences around food both through their permanent menu, as well as their themed dinners or menus that capture the essence of artists such as Picasso. Like a work of art, their projects invite you to discover, experiment and reflect, demonstrating that cuisine can also be a means to express ideas and create beauty.
Some of the restaurant’s must-haves are their famous Iberian ham croquettes, super creamy with Laxta sheep’s milk as an appetizer, their candied artichokes, oysters and their fried bluefin tuna corn tostada with a Mexican sauce, guacamole and cilantro. For dessert? A delicious pineapple carpaccio with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream and a cookie crumble.
