From Tapas we compile the best plans with which to enjoy the weekend in Madrid, and relegate ourselves to hedonism between cultural and gastronomic experiences, parties, events and museums. Take the agenda and take note of our weekly proposal.

FRIDAY 21

What better way to start the weekend than enjoying a Juicy Bae show as part of the Sound Isidro 2023 concert series. The Sevillian artist who transcends all kinds of genres through sounds that mix trap, soul and flamenco, will move and make all her fandom dance in unison at Sala Shoko. If you still don’t have your ticket, get it here.

All that energy supplied at the concert will serve as a starter for a subsequent dinner at BAAN, the trendy Asian restaurant in the capital. A space with an aesthetic and gastronomy that takes us to Southeast Asia through the exotic elaborations of chef Victor Camargo inspired by traditional recipes from countries such as Vietnam, Thailand and China.

Where? At Calle de Villanueva, 2 (Madrid).

SATURDAY 22

We wake up on Saturday and we put on some elegant look to rise up to the rooftop Oroya of the design hotel The Madrid Edition. In the middle of this avant-garde oasis in the heart of the city, we find this jungle terrace where we can travel to Peru through the flavors of Diego Muñoz’s signature cuisine.

This Saturday, on the occasion of the first anniversary of this luxury urban resort, Oraya will premiere its particular brunch ‘Costa y Montaña’: a proposal composed of starters to share such as ocopa with fried cheese or ceviche, as well as main dishes such as Angus picaña with arequipa bean sarza, aticuchera mushroom, or parmentier and mustard. To finish off this gastronomic experience, the chef will serve a series of delicious desserts such as alfajor de guana-bana, traditional picarones, fruits or cold chicha morada soup.

The next stop will be to visit the pop-up of the high-end streetwear brand 93sierracrosses at the gallery and/or mutant store Bate Social Store. A space transformed for the occasion into a showroom where its creative director Oliver will ephemerally exhibit an exclusive edition of 50 T-shirts and 20 sweatshirts along with a selection of pieces from his latest collection FW23-24. Where? At C/ de Santa María 14, from April 20 to 24.

SUNDAY 23

On Sunday, after strolling through the streets that make up the Rastro of Madrid, and frequenting our usual second-hand stores, we decided to try the sandwiches of Revuelto; a gastro-space erected on Gran Vía, where we could taste this South Korean creation reinterpreted by Naia Parra and Sandra Lauzurica. Within its menu of creations in spongy bread with scrambled eggs, we will opt for one of its highlights: the Cheese Bacon, which contains bacon, spicy aioli and sweet mayo sauce.

To close the weekend with harmony and delight, we will opt for an artistic plan hosted by the Serrería Belga cultural space: Piano City Madrid.

This new edition of the festival, in which to enjoy the captivating sound of the piano, will feature 55 concerts in which to listen to the performances of a cast of pianists of eclectic musical styles ranging from classical music, through jazz or new age to the most experimental sounds. Get your ticket here.
