From Tapas we compile the best plans with which to enjoy the weekend in Madrid, and relegate ourselves to hedonism between cultural and gastronomic experiences, parties, events and museums. Take the agenda and take note of our weekly proposal.

FRIDAY 30

On Friday we will discover one of the most exciting culinary novelties of the moment, located in the design hotel The Madrid EDITION. There we will reserve a table at Market at EDITION, the new restaurant to go through a baroque portal erected by the Madrid architect Pedro de Rivera. The evening will revolve around their specialization: Spanish market cuisine, focusing on fresh, high-quality ingredients sourced directly from local markets.

Each of their dishes is inspired by Spanish culinary traditions with an innovative twist reflected in dishes such as their Iberian ham croquettes, their bravas de market, their torreznos de soria or their fried eggplant chips. After the mains, we will order the grilled sirloin steak with foie gras and celeriac puree with port reduction. Of course, dessert is a must, and it will be their Basque pistachio tart.

After the evening, we will continue to vibrate with the sensation of the summer in KALORAMA. The festival arrives at IFEMA MADRID with its proposal in which different sound sensibilities will converge, ranging from pop to jazz or electronica.

The event will be hosted this year by artists of great musical impact such as LCD Soundsystem, Olivia Dea, Nation of Language, The Kills, Overmono or The Prodigy. The iconic British group, as the new headliner, will perform all their hits and impact the audience with their high voltage rave. The electronic duo formed by Liam Howlett and Maxim Reality, known for raising breakbeat-hardcore to the altars of the early 90s, will take us ‘OUT OF SPACE’ with their hits revered intergenerationally.

On Friday the hits will be played by RAYE, the great phenomenon of the British scene last year as the absolute queen of R&B and soul of the new millennium. Meanwhile, Yard Act will delight rock lovers, Colectivo Da Silva will delight tropical pop fans, and TRISTÁN! will delight all those who connect with their sad and melancholic vibe.

Get your season ticket or daily ticket through TICKETSWAP, the festival’s official partner that offers a 100% secure ticketing experience through a fast and transparent fan-to-fan ticket exchange process.

SATURDAY 31

On Saturday we will attend another festival, but this time photographic. We will head to Casa de América to visually delight ourselves with the free PHOTOESPAÑA exhibition of the Haitian-born artist Widline Cadet. An exhibition with which he reflects on his diasporic experience, addressing ideas such as kinship, intergenerational legacy and the fragility of memory.

In the afternoon we will return to the KALORAMA stage to enjoy the shows of Massive Attack, Sam Smith, Jungle and close the night in style with the set of the iconic South Korean DJ Peggy Gou, as one of the most representative figures of global clubbing that has transcended with tracks like ‘It Goes Live (Nanana)’.

SUNDAY 1

On Sunday we will detox all the excesses of the weekend in Superfuüd. A culinary ritual that will revolve around conscious, healthy and organic food, which beyond having stood out for its home delivery service, now has a physical restaurant. There we will be able to taste its menu based on superfoods with dishes designed and corroborated by a nutritionist, such as its sweet potato chips, Cajun grilled chicken, beet hummus or its pizzas with yucca bases together with one of its ‘supershakes’.

‘Superfuüd was born out of a commitment to offer healthy recipes full of flavor and health. We believe that the harmony between body and mind is based on good nutrition. That is why our gastronomic proposal is based on superfoods combined with organic and local products. We want to show you that healthy food doesn’t have to be boring or tasteless, you just have to cook it with care.’ Where? In Avenida de Concha Espina, 55, 28016, Madrid.

We will close the weekend with a film screening. We will go to the Cibeles de Cine summer cinema to see Tarantino‘s cult classic ‘Reservoir Dogs‘ at 22.00 pm.

If you’re up for the plan, here’s the Filmin synopsis: ‘Six professional gangsters are hired by Joe Cabot (Lawrence Tierney) and his son Eddie (Chris Penn) for a job. They don’t know each other and remain anonymous, hiding under colorful names: Mr. White (Harvey Keitel), Mr. Orange (Tim Roth), Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), Mr. Brown (Quentin Tarantino), Mr. Blue (Eddie Bunker) and Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen). They meticulously prepare the robbery of a jewelry store, but the police show up unexpectedly at the time of the robbery turning it into a massacre. Everything suggests that there is a traitor infiltrating the group. The survivors will confront each other trying to find out who has led them to this extreme situation’.
