From Tapas we have compiled the best plans with which to make the most of the weekend in Madrid, and to indulge in hedonism between cultural and gastronomic experiences, festivals, events and museums. Grab your diary and take note of our weekly proposal.
FRIDAY 5TH
This weekend we will vibrate on a high frequency with the concerts of Spain’s ‘stickiest’ sisters; starting with Mushkaa‘s concert at Sala Shoko. The artist has revolutionised the Spanish urban scene with her songs in Catalan in which she adds catchy lyrics to dancehall, hyperpop, reggaeton and even piano ballads. Her latest collaboration with Bad Gyal ‘SexeSexy’ has positioned her at the top of the national industry. If you haven’t got your ticket yet, you can always get on her waiting list.
After the show, we will head to the Cadavra club to enjoy their monthly PACHANGA party. For this occasion, the French DJ and producer Darta, founder of the label ‘HOUSEGOR’, will connect in the same session with the electronic set with percussive and tribal influences of Foie Gras; their resident DJ who has conquered the most sought-after national clubs of the moment.
Nostalgic 90’s tunes fused with sounds of the future await you – that’s what Pachanga is pushing into the heart of our city! Reviving the European underground scene in Madrid’. Get your pass here.
SATURDAY 6TH
On Saturday we will organise an intimate evening at Mateo Honten. This is the new Japanese izakaya that has fascinated devotees of Japanese gastronomy and signature cocktails, not only for its vintage aesthetics and atmosphere, but also for its vinyl collection.
There we will combine sushi with some of the dishes to share devised by Edo Kobayashi, the Tijuana chef and restaurateur renowned for transmitting through food the exploration of his Japanese roots fused with Mexican produce. A concept that he has transferred to more than 14 restaurants in CDMX, and which he now presents at Mateo Honten, his first Spanish restaurant where his most acclaimed dishes are presented in the form of fried chicken with ginger and yuzukosho mayonnaise or delicious chicken wings with spicy miso, spring onion and sesame.
The session and the magic of Saturday night will be provided by Guacamayo in the Sala El Sol. At the party we can dance with their cumbia sounds and tropical rhythms, mixed by Sexxy Noodle and Dieguetón as special guests of the night along with the Guacamayo DJs.
SUNDAY 7TH
On Sunday we will eat at ITA Madrid: a small and evocative bistro serving Mediterranean cuisine where vegetables are reinterpreted in a gourmet key.
In their space designed by Combo Estudio, which resembles the structure and decoration of a minimalist house, we will taste some of their healthy dishes made in a sustainable way, such as their pickled vacuum-packed beetroot and their pumpkin ravioli with goat cheese, pecan nuts and noissete butter sauce; to put the icing on the cake with an orange and cardamom flan. Where? Calle General Oraa, 42.
We will close the weekend in the best possible way: with Bad Gyal‘s concert at the Wizink Center. The dancehall icon will present her ‘La Joia 24 Karts Tour’, the tour of her debut album ‘La Joia‘ which includes iconic tracks like ‘Skit’ or ‘Así Soy’ with Morad. If you don’t have your ticket yet, get it here.
