From Tapas we compile the best plans with which to enjoy the weekend in Madrid, and relegate ourselves to hedonism between cultural and gastronomic experiences, parties, events and museums. Take the agenda and take note of our weekly proposal.
FRIDAY 1ST
The long-awaited weekend is here and we will start it in the best possible way: trying the new Spicy Soul Hot Pot in Madrid. This ‘chongqing’ style restaurant of traditional Chinese food, specializes in the Asian fashionable dish from the town of Sichuan, and in it, they serve giant pots with 6 options of broth in which to immerse 32 types of meat, 16 types of seafood and 28 types of vegetables. In addition, they have an open dessert bar to put the icing on the gastronomic experience. Where? At Calle Diego de León, 11.
After dinner, we will activate the night session at the party ‘Quality Sportswear 5th Anniversary Party‘, in which the vintage store Quality Sportswear from Madrid celebrates its fifth anniversary by presenting its first party organized by its music division Quality Sound.
SATURDAY 2ND
On Saturday morning we will visit the group exhibition ‘Recorridos urbanos‘, which hosts the winning photographs of the call #RecorridosUrbanosPHE23 carried out in the Instagram of PHotoESPAÑA. A contest that focused on images captured in urban environments, in a broad and abstract sense.
The four winning images will invite us to discover or rediscover surprising corners and images of cities such as Muxía (A Coruña), London, Alcorcón or Reyhanli (Turkey).
After the exhibition, our gastronomic ritual of the day will revolve around Peruvian culture at Llama Inn, the trendy New York restaurant, with locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan, which recently opened its doors in the capital.
Its proposal of Peruvian haute cuisine with Japanese touches and nods to the Spanish tradition displays a menu with only 17 dishes, but in which you can find sublime creations such as its typical Peruvian street food brochette in different versions such as the one with bacon at low temperature.
They also have four-handed cooking sessions, with guest chefs who introduce their gastronomic vision to the concept for a limited time. Where? At Calle del Conde de Xiquena, 2.
SUNDAY 3RD
Sunday will be dedicated to rest and performing arts. We will enter the work directed by the experimental artist and dancer Candela Capitán, who will present in the Sala Negra of Teatros del Canal this modern piece that explores the supplanting of identity and the overexposure of the female body in the digital age, under the influence of globalization.
Entitled ‘SOLAS (2023)‘, the work is a scenic creation by Candela Capitán for five performers, five computers and an online transmission web platform.
At nightfall, we will head to the cozy restaurant ‘Los 33‘, illuminated by fire and candles, among wooden beams and shelves with vinyls. This is the emerging project of the ideologists of the iconic Charrúa steakhouse and the guys from El Viajero, materialized in a design bar with high tables for snacking and a restaurant specialized in the art of embers, where getting a table is practically impossible.
Where is it? At Plaza de las Salesas, 9.
