We bring you a great foodie plan for the weekend. This year the Winter Tapas Route is being held for the first time in the Prosperidad neighbourhood, in the southern part of the Chamartín district. An event organised by Cocina Para Ti together with the Chamartín Traders’ Association and the Madrid City Council to promote and reactivate the catering business in this area. In this first edition, which runs until Sunday 5 February, 12 restaurants are taking part and each one has prepared three delicious tapas exclusively for these days. Attendees will be able to try them for 4 euros along with a drink. Of the 37 tapas you can try this weekend, here are five (but you’re sure to try many more).

Here you can see the map with all the participating establishments, so you can create your own route.

Callos a la madrileña at La Bientirada Corazón de María

There is nothing more traditional than going out for tapas and trying some good callos a la madrileña. In this place, you can choose this tapa with your drink, but you can also choose a brioche of oxtail or ensaladilla rusa en palomita (Russian salad on popcorn). C/ del Corazón de María, 46 / Web

Prawn taco with guacamole and pink sauce at La Cervecería Arcade

This restaurant offers Galician and trendy cuisine. For this route they have created three different tapas. In addition to the prawn taco with guacamole and pink sauce, you can try the homemade duck pâté with caramelised sauce with orange and lemon, or the homemade octopus croquettes. Perdigacho at El Santo

At El Santo, everything has its own enigma and the dishes give a lot of importance to the product, but they also play with a fun presentation. On this route they have created a tapa called Perdigacho El Santo, which has a smoked sardine El Pescador de Villagarcía and piparra from Rooftop Smokehouse on grated tomato and allioli on toasted brioche (which costs 6 euros). He has three other creations: The world’s finest Iberian pork sandwich (Iberian jowl with grated tomato and AOVE on carasatu bread) and the Babaganoush (Aubergine Hummus with goat’s cheese, cane honey and Obando peppers), for 4 euros; and the mini-taco of stewed beef cheek in Japanese curry sauce and pickled onion, for 6 euros. Bravas with crispy ear at La Lupa

In this modern restaurant of the Ottica Group (which also has Ottica Restaurante, Occhiali Restaurante y Ottilia & Vermú, all also participating in this Winter Tapa Route), you can try avant-garde cuisine with a traditional touch, such as their tapa of Bravas with crispy ear, the mini-bao of baby squid with Chinese cabbage, kimchee mayonnaise and a few dots of black garlic aioli or the mini quesadilla of BBQ rib and Idiazábal cheese. Mini aubergine lasagne at Salutteria Corazón de María

If you want a gastronomic experience inspired by Italian salumerias, you have to order this tapa with your drink. But you can also opt for the cherries with cheese, pesto and mortadella or the courgette millefeuille, which they offer as an alternative. C/ del Corazón de María, 57 (Madrid) / Web

The other restaurants participating in the Ruta de la Tapa, in addition to those of the Ottica group, are the Salamar resturante (C/ Cartagena, 103), Compostela 57 restaurant (C/ del Corazón de María, 57), Trastevere (C/ del Corazón de María, 58) and EntreJamones (C/ del Corazón de María, 46).
