This week we are changing our classic Tapas Weekend for a good cause. And that is to mobilise around Valencia with a special agenda in which we will be compiling some of the solidarity actions to help the communities affected by the DANA, whether through music, gastronomy or art.
Concert series
From 11 to 13 November, cities such as Barcelona, Burgos, Madrid, Donosti, Girona, Murcia and Granada will become the epicentre of a series of solidarity concerts in support of the populations affected by the DANA. Key figures on the national music scene such as Abhir, Judeline, Amore, Sticky M.A and Oddliquor will take to the stage in this musical tribute that will resonate from different venues around the country.
SOM VALÈNCIA is the organisation behind this solidarity event that will raise funds for those affected through the Horta Sud Foundation, a non-profit organisation with more than 50 years of experience strengthening the cultural and social fabric of Valencia.
Tickets -priced between €15 and €20- are now available through DICE. Access all the programme, the lineup and the links to buy tickets through this link.
Art with Valencia
The exhibition ‘EL ARTE CON VALENCIA’, which will be on display from 29 November to 1 December in the Sala de Columnas of the Círculo de Bellas Artes, will feature a collection of pieces donated by artists who will participate in the charity auction that will take place afterwards.
Meanwhile, on 2 December, the charity auction will take place at Subastas Alcalá, Madrid. The auction will be physical but it will also be possible to bid by telephone and the online channel will also be available. 100% of the funds raised will go to the Red Cross and Fundació Horta Sud, for the benefit of all those affected by the DANA.
Support through reading
Another of the solidarity actions we can carry out is to help bookshops affected by the DANA, the catastrophe that has unleashed a dystopian panorama in some Valencian territories, causing culture to slow down and flood. In order to support some of the affected businesses, we can buy books through the following list of affected bookshops -compiled online by ‘Girls from Today‘- where we can carry out this powerful action around reading.

Solidarity gastronomic event
This Sunday 10 November, a gastronomic event will take place with the same mission: to donate all the proceeds to support València through José Andrés’ NGO, World Central Kitchen.
‘Callos Solidarios‘, which will take place in the Wololó space from 13.00 to 17.00h, has also counted with the collaboration of the famous bakery and pastry shop Madreamiga, which has donated bread for the event; while the freestyle asian food bar NAKEIMA has provided the inductions.
Tickets for the event can be obtained through this link for €10, and will include a tapa of tripe and a beer. You can also participate without attending the event (just by donating money). In addition, the space in question has also set up a place for the collection of necessary materials for those affected.
