Every year since 2021, Studio Ghibli has published an official book immortalising on paper the entire hedonistic gastronomic universe it projects on screen. This year, the cult Japanese studio has decided to open the year with a new work that focuses on the recipe book of Kiki’s Delivery Service.
As a large part of the film takes place in a bakery, the elaborations are mainly centred on pastry products captured through 64 illustrated pages that help to explain a series of culinary processes designed in a simple way.
Ghibli’s Dining Table Children’s Cooking Picture Book – Kiki’s Delivery Service’, to be released on 14 March on Amazon and in Japanese bookstores, will feature recipes for dishes from the film such as Gütiokipänjä’s mountain-shaped bread and round buns, Tombo’s bought cookies, Madame’s roast herring and pumpkin pie, Osono’s milk soup, Kiki’s special golden pancake and Madame’s special chocolate cake, Tombo’s store-bought biscuits, roast herring and pumpkin pie, Osono’s milk soup, Kiki’s special golden pancake and Madame’s special chocolate cake to create epic feasts to enchant everyone at the table.
