Despite not being an innovative dessert, but a marriage of two classics or world favourites, the strawberry salsa chips have won the hearts of the platform’s users by mimicking the action of ‘putting salsa on a chip’.
To make the chips, simply melt the chocolate chips and spread them out on a tray before freezing them and cutting them into chip-like pieces. Simply chop strawberries from a bowl into salsa-like pieces to grow the sweet dip.
Many TikTok content creators have been willing to try the experiment, sharing their experiences online by following the ritual to the letter. Others decided to use it as a ‘themed’ dessert for Valentine’s Day, sharing creations over a TikTok sound that read: ‘This is my meal, I call it girl dinner’.
To add extra fun to the recipe, some users have even melted chocolate into the tortilla chips for dipping in salsa or adding more fruit or toppings such as shavings or whipped cream.
