The actress has just launched her brand DÍOS MIO! COFFEE brand, with which she is reinventing the coffee sector based on a fair trade philosophy. The name of the line itself is inspired by the popular Latin expression that, according to Vergara, ‘Latinos use when they discover the perfect taste and flavour’.

Sofia, as a great coffee connoisseur, has developed three different roasts that have been blended by a cast of women coffee growers to whom she also pays tribute with this range, as well as to her own origins. It highlights the women coffee growers of Colombia who work tirelessly and meticulously at what they do,’ she acknowledges.

The creation of this exhilarating expression, the star tells PEOPLE, came from her personal need to drink quality coffee in Los Angeles, where she has long experience in its tradition and consumption. She worked closely with the National Federation of Colombian Coffee Growers to ensure that the products were made with authentic Colombian beans.

Three mixtures

Vergara‘s collection features three types of coffee blend each intended to honour different ‘qualities and characteristics of Colombian women’, according to a statement.

On the one hand, ‘Dulzura‘ is the light roast that takes its cue from a grandmother’s embrace to dilute a smooth, fruity cup with a touch of acidity; while the medium roast is called ‘Balance’ and contains flavour notes of nuts, white chocolate and brown sugar. This one is inspired by women who ‘balance work, family and passion for coffee’.

Completing the range is the ‘Strength‘ coffee: the darkest roast that pays homage to the powerful ‘Colombian women of coffee growing’ through its cocoa and smoky flavour, which, like the other roasts, is now available in whole beans, ground beans, K-Cups and Nespresso capsules on its Díos Mío! website.
