Music producer and cookbook author, Benny Blanco, would share on Friday, July 19, his adventure tasting a summer sandwich he rescued from the depths of the internet. And that was the one with pickle and watermelon, which he discovered recently, and was shocked by its combination. Intrigued, he decided to try it for himself.
In the video he appears cutting a watermelon and slicing two pieces of bread. He then combines the rest of the ingredients: cheese, a slice of pickle, balsamic vinegar and basil. ‘All right, so I guess it’s like a sandwich,’ he says, adding that he ‘thinks it’s gross’.
After tasting, he declares that ‘it’s not bad,’ and then invites his girlfriend Selena Gomez to taste it, who had been watching the whole scene from off-camera. ‘All right, baby, come taste it,’ he said.
‘I don’t want to. I’m not going to like this,’ said a very hesitant Gomez as she takes it, adding, ‘I love pickles.
Still examining the sandwich, Blanco exclaims: ‘Eat it!’, to which Gómez replies: ‘I’m trying!’, to taste it and say that he doesn’t like the sandwich, walking away from the screen and putting an end to the reaction.
