Richad Gere shares ‘one of the best dinners of his life’ in Granada with Alejandro Sanz

The friends, who have already shown their love and fanaticism for each other on occasion, would meet at one of the best restaurants in Granada the night before the film party where Gere would receive the Goya of Honor.

At first, the singer revealed to reporters that they had dined together on Friday during the red carpet of the gala. Later it was discovered that the evening had been at Ruta del Veleta, the restaurant where Gere said he had had ‘one of the best dinners of his life’, according to the newspaper Ideal. He personally took it upon himself to go to the kitchen and pass on the message to the restaurant’s chef Marcos Pedraza.

The manager of the restaurant assures that it was ‘a historic day’. Following Ideal’s statements, Sanz and Gere shared a menu consisting of Motril prawns, Caesar salad with Granada cheeses and crayfish ravioli, plus a dessert to end the luxury feast.

Inside Ruta del Veleta

The restaurant that has captivated Gere, has two tasting menus based on the reinvention of tradition through culinary avant-garde and creativity. The first costs 75 euros per person, with options such as an emulsified croquette with black garlic, fresh pasta stuffed with white shrimp, roasted octopus with smoke and artichokes with cod.

The restaurant is located on an old road to Sierra Nevada, where the Pedraza family presents its haute cuisine proposal in a historic and masterful space that has just become one of Richard Gere’s favorite Spanish restaurants.
