Although the leisure plans of the King and Queen of Spain do not usually come to light, some of the getaways or dinners in which Felipe VI and Letizia enjoy Madrid’s nightlife are often leaked. The latest gourmet plan that we have known happened a few days ago in the centre of Madrid. According to the website Vanitatis, the King and Queen went for dinner with some friends to a central restaurant near Antón Martín.
The place chosen was the Ferretería restaurant, which serves national and seasonal products, offering traditional recipes with innovative touches to enjoy a gastronomic experience full of art and history. Among the restaurant’s specialities are the Ironmonger’s tripe, braised oxtail with mini pears, Ironmonger’s steak tartare with croissant toast and cod cocochas in 2 textures with chive and piparras emulsion, among other delicacies. All accompanied by a good wine. The price is around 50 euros per diner.
In addition, the decoration of the old hardware store -it was the oldest in the city- gives it a special touch. On this occasion, the King and Queen were accompanied by their friend Pedro Jaén, a dermatologist, and his wife. Although their Majesties have rarely been seen together on an outing, they do make plans in the centre of Madrid, especially in the Malasaña neighbourhood, one of Letizia’s favourites. She has dined at places such as ‘La Bicicleta’ or ‘Mama Campo’, among others.
