Reese Witherspoon captured the attention of her 30.3M followers with a video in which she unveiled a recipe that has defined her diet for the past 9 years. And that’s a smoothie that contains a bunch of veggies and some fruit for sweetness, and that, in addition, awaits a secret ingredient.
Reese mentions in the clip that he originally heard about this recipe from his Little Fires Everywhere co-star Kerry Washington a few years ago: ‘I sat next to her at an awards show and even though I didn’t know her, I said, ’You have beautiful skin, what do you do? And she said, ‘I actually think it’s this drink… it’s really changed my skin and strengthens my hair and nails’, so I signed up.’
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star says she has this smoothie for breakfast at 10 or 11am and it keeps her satiated until 1pm, around lunchtime. She always makes a double batch and saves half for the next day. Without further ado, here are the ingredients and recipe for Witherspoon’s green smoothie.
Preparation
- Chop the romaine lettuce and add it to the blender with the spinach, coconut water, banana, apple, lemon and other optional ingredients, if using.
- Once blended, divide evenly between two large glasses or water bottles. Reese’s uses reusable glass water bottles.
