This is the recipe for the french toast that Dwayne Johnson eats for breakfast on the weekends

La Roca follows a strict diet, but on weekends he feasts on cheat meals like this one below.

A few months ago we shared the cheat meal that Dwayne Johnson ate many Sundays: a big stack of pancakes with banana and coconut. But The Rock also alternates this hearty dish with another of his favorite cheat meals: a french toast with banana syrup, cream and macadamia nuts. The actor has a private chef, known as Chef Rocky, who prepares both his strict weekly diet and these sweet weekend recipes.

But this succulent french toast can also be eaten by everyone, because it’s available at Brique French Toastery, a Los Angeles shop that specializes in this sweet treat, founded by Chef Rocky with her husband Daniel, who also sells it through Godbelly. Although the original recipe calls for coconut chips, Johnson’s private chef shared with People magazine a version with macadamia nuts. If you’re up for making it at home to become The Rock, here’s the recipe below.

Dwayne Johnson’s French Toast recipe

Ingredients:

  • 230 ml heavy cream
  • 50 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 85 g butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 120 ml milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 slices of brioche bread
  • 1 handful of macadamia nuts

Preparation:

  • Put the cream in a bowl with the powdered sugar, half a teaspoon of vanilla and beat until smooth (approx. 1 minute). Cover tightly and store in the refrigerator until well chilled.
  • Meanwhile, slice the banana and mix with the brown sugar and some of the butter. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and heat over medium-low heat, stirring to dissolve the sugar and soften the banana.
  • Then mix well with the mixer.
  • Meanwhile, beat the eggs together with the milk and the teaspoon of cinnamon and the rest of the vanilla extract.
  • Dip the brioche slices in the egg mixture and put them in a frying pan over medium heat, where you have previously melted the other part of the butter.
  • Cook well until golden brown.
  • Plate the french toast and serve with the homemade banana syrup, whipped cream and macadamia nuts.
