If there are any cookies that triumph in Asturias, those are the Moscovitas®. The pastries created by the Rialto bakery, located in Oviedo, have become famous since they were first made more than four generations ago, and are now sold in many parts of Spain. This almond and chocolate sweet has become so popular that many establishments have made their own versions. Although there is nothing like the originals, if you want to prepare some homemade cookies, here is a recipe to inspire you. Take note!
Recipe for a version of Moscovitas cookies
Ingredients:
- 150 grams of ground Marcona almonds
- 175 g of chocolate (the one you prefer)
- 100 g sugar
- 100 ml cream
- 30 g flour
Preparation:
- First, heat a saucepan and add the cream and sugar until it dissolves.
- Stirring constantly, add the flour and ground almonds until everything is well integrated and remove from the heat.
- Then, line a baking tray and create the shape of the cookies and place them separated from each other. Preheat the oven to 180 ºC and bake for 10 minutes. Remove and let cool.
- Meanwhile, melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a bain-marie.
- Paint the cookies with the melted chocolate. Let dry and enjoy.
