The Ramón Bilbao winery is celebrating, and not only because it is on the eve of its centenary. The Spanish brand has once again been included in the prestigious list The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands, which has just been published by Drinks International. For the fifth consecutive year, Ramón Bilbao is considered one of the most admired wine brands in the world. In this edition, only seven Spanish firms have been included in the list.
This is a milestone that few wineries have achieved and it is thanks to the high regard that the jury – made up of a large group of journalists and professionals from all over the world – has for Ramón Bilbao’s commitment to excellence, sustainability and the faithful and honest expression of the wonderful virtues of the Rioja vineyard.
This exclusive list also includes other prestigious wineries from five continents, such as Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (Burgundy, France), Penfold’s (Australia), Ridge (California, USA), KWV (South Africa) and Catena Zapata (Argentina). In 2023, the historic firm Antinori, from Tuscany (Italy), topped the ranking for the first time.
Ramón Bilbao’s commitment
In Drinks International’s assessment of the Spanish firm, it has once again highlighted Ramón Bilbao’s solid commitment to the environment and sustainable viticulture. It also emphasizes the brand’s recognition and contribution at a global level, both in terms of innovation, customer orientation and its ability to project Spanish wine into the future while maintaining the link with its deepest and most valuable identity.
The CEO of Ramón Bilbao and Wine Director of the Zamora Company group, Rodolfo Bastida, said that it is always “very exciting to be among this ecosystem of the 50 most admired wine brands. For those of us who make up Ramón Bilbao, to receive this news again is one of the great reasons to keep fighting and trying to surpass ourselves every day”.
Founded in 1924, today Ramón Bilbao has become a reference point for wine in the world, with success among specialized critics and sales leader in the on-trade in Spain.
