Prada‘s new project focuses on gastronomy as an artistic discipline that it has explored this time together with the iconic film director behind hits such as ‘In The Mood For Love’.
The restaurant christened ‘Mi Shang Prada Rong Zhai’, which translates as ‘obsessed with’, is presented as the luxury brand’s first independent culinary space on the Asian continent; and will be inspired by the philatelic concept of tête-bêche, two identical inverted figures that fit together perfectly, as well as some of the artist’s most representative works.

The new Prada directed by Wong Kar Wai will essentially connect Milan and Shanghai within the same sophisticated and unique visual dialogue based on the nostalgic effects of some of his films. All of this will be projected through elements such as contrasts and mirrors in a building located in the historic 1918 Rong Zhai residence after a six-year renovation.
Mi Shang, which will officially open its doors on 31 March, will serve a wide range of culinary menus, including coffee, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and a full-service bar. Reservations can be made from 29 March via WeChat.
