Nestlé, the world’s largest food company, approved during its last general shareholders’ meeting the appointment of Pablo Isla as the new vice-chairman of its board of directors, coordinating director and chairman of the Swiss conglomerate’s nomination committee, which closed 2023 with a turnover of close to 96 billion euros.
Isla replaces Frenchman Henri de Castries, who held the position for 12 years. The ascension to the vice-presidency of the former executive chairman of the INDITEX group until 2022 makes him the second most important figure on Nestlé’s board of directors, behind chairman Paul Bulcke.
The Spanish executive, who will focus on the search for and analysis of new investment opportunities and on maximizing the group’s growth potential, will combine this position with that of CEO of Fonte Films, the film production company he founded after leaving the textile giant. In addition, he will maintain his position as global senior advisor at Cinven, the British venture capital giant, as well as chairing the international advisory board of IE University Madrid.
