At the small bistro run by Nino Kiltava, the depth of Georgian cuisine can be appreciated and savoured in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Now, Nunuka has just unveiled its summer menu where you can refresh yourself with a selection of seasonal dishes.
The trendy restaurant offers a series of dishes designed to be shared in the same ritual, with intense but balanced flavours. These include the Pkhaleuli, consisting of four Georgian vegetable dips (pumpkin, beetroot, spinach and ricotta with mint) with a walnut base and accompanied by homemade cornbread and Jonjoli; or the Mtsvane lobio imerulad, an exquisite combination of beans in a green sauce of corn chips with Kakhuri oil dressing.
The Georgian summer tasting menu also includes other dishes such as Charkhali Tkemalshi, beetroot carpaccio with tkemali (plum sauce) and horseradish sauce; Qartuli salati tomato and cucumber salad with roasted Khakhetia oil or the now famous Badrijani nigvzit, traditional aubergine stuffed with walnut paste in a light coconut and almond milk sauce.
Nunuka proposes to accompany the evening with its selection of natural Georgian wines that invite you to explore the authenticity and culture of the country. The red wines include the Saperavi, the semi-sweet Kindzmarauli or the Mukuzani, a dry red wine already considered one of the best Georgian wines. On the other hand, in the range of white wines, it offers fresh and fruity options such as those of the Chelti Winery, along with the orangey whites of Khikhvi, Mtsvane, and Kisi; all made in clay amphorae.
