Within the Kardashian clan’s world of endless feasts and culinary eccentricities -beyond their salads- there is also room for some much more ‘earthy’ foods. This was demonstrated by North West in the latest episode of the reality show, in which she appears eating a raw (unpeeled) onion without even flinching.
In that gastro scene in which mother and daughter appear cooking wings or cutting pickles, North decides to eat a raw onion as if it were an apple: an act that left no one indifferent, and ended up going viral and even sparking controversy on the networks.
The online duality was divided between people who found it an ‘aberration’ and those who understood West’s obsession, and claimed the iconicity of the mini it girl.
In the same sequence, you can also see North even offer her mother a bite, which Kim refuses, despite totally normalising the situation. This is what people do, North eats vegetables like apples’.
From that shot, the SKIMS founder blows a kiss to her daughter, while expressing: ‘Oh my God, this onion breath is going to make me cry,’ Kim said. ‘It’s so strong. My eyes are literally crying.
