Neil Patrick Harris, well known for playing the unforgettable Barney Stinson in How I Met Your Mother, has just launched with Thomas Ashbourne Craft Spirits an original ready-to-drink cocktail: The After Hours Espresso Martini. It is curious the parallel with his character Barney Stinson, inventor of the most famous anti-hangover ‘restorative elixir’ on television.
In this case, the actor has helped create an inspiring coffee cocktail that the American firm describes as “a true masterpiece of mixology”. They define it as a perfectly balanced drink, “irresistible blend of bold, velvety flavors that expresses enticing aromas of rich, aromatic Arabica coffee, delicious notes of dark chocolate and subtle hints of creamy vanilla; all made with our premium vodka.” This is their fun video presentation:
According to Cara Kamenev, CEO and founder of Thomas Ashbourne, the actor was chosen for his sophistication and irreverence: “We like to say that we are tremendously delicious and tremendously dignified; that’s Neil.
He was immediately captivated by the idea: “There’s something emotionally connected to an Espresso Martini that makes you feel like you’re about to go on your next adventure. I loved being part of the project because I love mixology and it’s a great drink. You could drink one before you go out for the night or when the bars are closing and you want to go dancing and need a little energy.”
The cocktails of the celebrities
Thomas Ashbourne has revolutionized the premium beverage market in the United States with a very attractive proposal: to offer ready-to-drink craft cocktails associated with different celebrities.
Thus, Neil Patrick Harris and his The After Hours Expresso Martini have joined Sarah Jessica Parker’s The Perfect Cosmo -a nod to her character in Sex and the City-; Ashley Benson, Rosario Dawson and Vanessa Hudgens’ The Margalicious Margarita; and Playboi Carti’s The Hardscatto.
“Our work is driven by the love of a wild good time, so cut ties with your bartender (or offer him a cocktail) and let’s cut loose together,” they suggest from their website.
