Donald Gorske is one of those personalities who transcend the normative and step outside the parameters of conscious eating. This philosophy of life has led him to make history with a Guinness World Record for the largest number of Big Macs consumed in a lifetime. At 35,000 burgers, he has eaten an average of 600 burgers a year since he began this long-distance fast food career in 1972. Since then, Mr. Gorske has saved every single receipt and package the burger comes in.

The Wisconsin man started out eating a whopping nine 580-calorie burgers a day. He then cut back to ‘just two’. More surprisingly, though, he is in good health, as he recounts in a video posted on YouTube in which his wife says doctors have given him a clean bill of health. His blood sugar has been normal and his cholesterol exceptionally good,’ she said.

He attributes his good health to his regular 10km walks and the fact that he avoids adding chips to his meals. He also told Guinness World Records that he has been ‘blessed with a high metabolism’ and has deterred others from trying to dethrone him, and that he will continue his ‘Big Mac diet’ until he dies.
