After the Oscars ceremony, McDonald’s has brought out all the stars to dazzle in its new advert featuring everything from Julia Fox to Michael B. Jordan and Kieran Culkin. They all make a collective cameo in the spot to share their breakfast order from the fast food chain.
This is what the celebrities order for breakfast at McDonald’s: ‘the only food Hollywood trusts’, as Kieran Culkin reveals in the ad, while passing around the receipts for the rest of the cast’s orders. First up, Colman Domingo opts for a menu classic: an Egg McMuffin for breakfast. In addition to hash browns and coffee, he accompanies the morning ritual with strawberry jelly and ketchup, a bottle of water and a delicious strawberry-banana milkshake.
Julia Fox takes the Oscar for sweetest breakfast, considering she orders hot cakes with 10 packets of syrup, plus hot chocolate with extra whipped cream. To top it all off, the ‘Uncut Gems’ actress complements the sugar fix with three hot chocolate chip biscuits.
Kieran Culkin, who would go on to win his first Oscar for ‘A Real Pain’, told McDonald’s he was celebrating with a very simple order: just a small Coke; while Teyana Taylor orders a full breakfast including hot cakes, sausage, eggs, a chicken biscuit sandwich with cheese, jam, extra butter and extra syrup with a large orange juice to finish.
In the ad, McDonald’s even recalls one of the funniest fails in recent Oscar history: when John Travolta mispronounced Wicked star Idina Menzel’s name as ‘Adele Dazeem’ at the 2014 Oscars – printing an order for ‘Adele Dazeem’, aka Menzel. The Broadway star takes her Egg McMuffin without bacon and finishes her breakfast with a McCafe nonfat latte.
Other actors featured in the new McDonald’s ad are Keke Palmer (who eats fruit and maple oatmeal and fries for breakfast) and actor Michael B. Jordan (who orders two Egg McMuffins and cheese and two fries with strawberry jelly). Last but not least, Rosalia orders a varied menu consisting of a mango and pineapple smoothie, a bacon, egg and cheese McGriddle and fries with mayonnaise.
